Internal Quality assurance Cell (IQAC)
Internal Quality Assurance Cell, of Vivekanand Education Society’s college of Arts, Science and Commerce, was constituted in the month of July 2004, in accordance with the guidelines provided by the NAAC and the set up of the institution.
Objective
The primary aim of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution
Function:
To Propose, promote, initiate and support quality measures in order to bring about improvement in the overall performance of the institution.
To prepare Annual Quality Assurance Report.
Members:
In view of the objectives of the cell , the members were drawn from every important section of the institution as follows:
- Chair: Principal of the college.
- One link faculty from each department,
- Faculties representing some important committees of the college for extracurricular and co-curricular activities,
- One link member each from general office and office of self financing programs.

- Representative from Management:
- Representative from QAC
- Coordinator of IQAC – a senior faculty member
Current Members of the Cell:
Following are some of the initiative of IQAC over last five years:
- Promotion and formation of several Quality Circles.*
- Introduction of Additional Credit Program for advanced learners
- Institution of special prizes for specially abled students.
- Induction Program for the newly appointed faculty.
- Promotion of Best practices
- To enhance faculty competency , I.Q.A.C. organized hands on programs to train teachers in methods of power point presentation & advanced Excel with the help of Department of computer science & IT
- Organizes ‘Browsing day’ to familiarize the students to the newly acquired books.
- Promotion of Alumni activities
