FACULTY OF Commerce (Bachelor of
Management Studies)
Self Financing Courses Examination:
Examination for the Self Financing Courses namely B.M.S., B.M.M., B.Com. (Banking and Insurance), B.Com. (Financial Markets) & B.Sc. (Information Technology) will be held at the end of each Semester for F.Y. and S.Y. Classes. Complete details regarding Examination for each course are given in the respective course information.
Examination for T.Y. Classes will be conducted by the University of Mumbai at the end of each Semester.
Examination of Post Graduates Courses will be conducted by the University of Mumbai.
Additional Examination (Self Financing Courses):
- A. Eligibility to appear at the additional examination :
A student who does not appear in some or all the papers, in Semester on medical grounds or for representing the college / University in sports, culture activities, activities of NCC, NSS conducted by recognized bodies competent authorities or for any other reason which is considered valid under exceptional circumstances and to the satisfaction of the Principal is eligible to appear for the additional examination. The additional examination will be conducted within a month of the Semester examination completion. In case of absenteeism at the semester exam the student is required to submit to the Principal in writing stating the reason for his/her absenteeism along with the relevant supporting document (Medical certificate / Certificate for Participation in any of the above mentioned activities) within a period of two days of the conduct of the said examination.
- Nature of the additional examination :
The additional examination shall be of two hours duration and of 60 marks per paper/subject. The student shall appear for the paper/subject of the term examination, which he/she has missed.

The examination shall
be conducted at the end of each Semester.

A paper shall carry
100 marks. The evaluation of the performance
of the students in theory papers shall
be on the basis of both Internal assessment
(40%) and semester end examination (60%).
Internal evaluation shall be on the
basis of class assignments, group discussions,
seminar attendance etc. The semester
end examination shall be held at the
end of each semester and shall be of
two hours duration.

A candidate shall have
to obtain a minimum of 50% marks in
aggregate of each theory paper and a
minimum grade of C in each project wherever
applicable to pass a particular semester
provided that the candidate must have
obtained a minimum of 35% of marks in
semester end examination for each theory
paper and Internal assessment separately.

A candidate shall be
placed in First Class with Distinction
if he/she secures a minimum of 50% marks
in each theory paper and with a minimum
Grade of C in each project in Semester
V and at least 70% marks in theory paper
of Semester V & VI taken together in
Aggregate.

A candidate shall be
placed in First Class if he/she secures
a minimum of 50% marks in each theory
paper and with a minimum Grade of C
in each project in Semesters V and at
least 60% marks in theory papers of
Semesters V & VI taken together in aggregate.

A candidate shall be
placed in Second Class if he/she secures
a minimum of 50% marks in each theory
paper and a minimum Grade of C in each
project in Semesters V and less than
60% marks in theory papers of Semesters
V & VI taken together in aggregate.

A candidate who fails
in any particular theory paper shall
be allowed to reappear for the theory
paper. However, his/her internal evaluation
marks shall be carried over. But he/she
shall not be entitled to any class on
passing.

A candidate shall
be allowed to keep terms for semester
II if he/she passes Semester I OR
if he/she fails in not more than two
theory papers of Semester --- I.

A candidate shall
be allowed to keep terms for Semester
III if he/she passes Semester I and
Semester II OR if he/she fails in
not more than two theory papers of
Semester I and Semester II taken together.

A candidate shall
be allowed to keep terms for Semester
IV if he/she passed in each of Semester
I, II and III OR if he/she passes
Semester I and fails in not more than
two theory papers of Semester II and
Semester III taken together.

A candidate shall
be allowed to keep terms for Semester
V if he/she passes in each of Semester
I, II, III and IV OR if he/she passes
Semester I and Semester II and fails
in not more than two theory papers
of Semester III and Semester IV taken
together.

A candidate shall
be allowed to keep terms for Semester
VI if he/she passes in each of Semester
I, II, III, IV and V OR if he/she
passes Semester I, Semester II and
Semester III and fails in not more
than two theory papers of Semester
IV and Semester V taken together,
irrespective of his/her Grade in Project
I of Semester V.

A candidate who does
not secure a minimum grade of C in
project I has to submit a fresh project
till he/she secures a minimum grade
of C.

The evaluation of projects
I and viva-voce examination shall be
by awarding grade in the seven point
scale noted below :-

A candidate shall have to obtain
Grade C in this seven points scale
grade in project evaluation viva-voce
taken together to obtain 50% marks
in project works.

There is a facility of obtaining Photo/Zerox copy/ies of assessed and / or moderated answer book/s by the examinee/s.

The Photo/Zerox copy/ies shall be supplied on the payment of non-refundable fees of Rs. 100/- per answer book which shall have to be paid by the examinee/s and 50% concession for reserve category examinees.

On receipt of Photo/Zerox copy/ies of desired answer book/s, if the examinee is not satisfied with the marks awarded to him/her by the original examiner or in accordance with relevant Ordinance he/she may apply for redressal of grievance to the College/Institution in the prescribed form, challenging the valuation done.

The prescribed application form duly filled in shall be submitted with a fee of Rs. 250/- per paper to the respective College/Institution and 50% concession for reserve categories.
- The Redressal Committee, so constituted, shall verify the original answer book/s and evaluate the mark/s allotted to the answer/s in the light of the reasons of grievance and the points of challenge to valuation, put down by the applicant examinee if his/her application, and shall make specific recommendations in writing, whether the contentions of the applicant has any merit and thereby justifies re-assessment or the contentions are baseless and deserves to be rejected. The considered decision of the Redressal Committee shall be final and binding.
UNFAIR MEANS ADOPTED DURING
EXAMINATIONS :
THE QUANTUM OF PUNISHMENT SHALL
VARY FROM ANNULMENT OF THE PERFORMANCE
OF THE STUDENT DURING EXAMS IN FULL,
(ANNUAL THEORY & PRACTICALS) TO
DEBARRING THE STUDENTS FROM APPEARING
IN ANY FUTURE EXAMS.
THE MINIMUM PUNISHMENT, THEREFORE,
IS CANCELLATION OF THE ENTIRE EXAMINATION.
